Default Brake Problems

When I brake hard, my brakes seem to have a problem. At first I described it as it felt as if the car was "tripping" on itself or the front end was smacking against the ground. To explain the feeling, when I brake hard, my brake pedal and system is fine, fine, fine, then suddenly it will feel very jittery and shakey and doesn't seem to brake as well. Some have suggested it is the ABS kicking in, but it feels a lot rougher than I imagined ABS would. I just wanted to post up and see if you guys had any suggestions before I took it to the brakes shop.

Thanks,
Let me know if I'm confusing you or you need more details,
Ben

But guys, why would it be warped discs/rotors if it is perfectly smooth and even brake engagement up to the limit? And then at the limit it goes all crazy and **** and feels broken? When our Passat had warped rotors, the mechanics all asked if we had a "pulsating sensation" and that was what it was but that is not the case here.

could it be that you're engaging ABS and not realizing it?

Someone did suggest it was the ABS, but it feels VERY rough and honestly, if I were the Honda ABS engineering department, it would not be an acceptable ABS engagement feedback.
