Do brake pads have anything to do with brakes locking up?
I posted a few days ago about brakes and upgrades and I learned that better pads can make a HUGE difference. Right now I have OEM pads in my EG and I always feel like when im slowing down from high speeds (60+) if i press the pedal too fast it will lock up. Its not like I slam on the brakes, just slowly depressing the pedal makes it feel like the brakes will lock, and they have on a few occasions.
Now I know part of the problem is I dont have abs, so the brakes will lock given the right circumstances, but would a different brake pad help resolve the problem somewhat. Like give me better stopping, and less chance of just locking up?

Heavier wheels can help fight early lock-up. But there's the added wieght to the suspension and the driveline when you do that. Are your brakes totally stock and you're having this problem?
