Default Strange Idle Problem.

I swapped a d16y8 into my 95 EG Hatch which replaced my d15B7. The swap was very simple but I have one single problem. When I shift above 5000 RPM's though all the gears and go for a little race, my car will idle at around 2700. I have to turn my car off and wait a while and it will idle at normal after about 20 mins of waiting. I have cleaned the IACV with carb cleaner and now my overall idle is around 1100 with the screw on the Throttle Body all the way in. And when I go for a rip it will idle at 2000 instead of 2700. Im out of ideas, I have bleed the cooling system and checked for vacuum leaks.

ANY advice is appreciated

adjust throttle cable and get it to idle at 800rpm and if you race it it should idle at 1500rpm or lower the most. that should solve your problem normal idle is 800 rpms so turn car on and have a buddy tell you when your at 800rpm let me know how it goes

There are No Check engine lights.
The throttle cable has a good amount of slack and is not pulling the throttle plate at all.

You said you bleed the system but is it full...? Is the cap holding pressure properly...? Are any of the wires loose on the ecu...? You said this was a swap so im guessing its something with the ecu connection or a loose ground possibly... I'll try and think of more... im pretty sure my buddy had this problem so I'll ask him what he had figured out

This time I Tryed to bleed the coolent from a cold start. I took the radiatior cap off and waited for bubbles but all the coolent just overflowed everywhere. The cap is keeping presser a and all the ecu cords are connect.

block off the IACV with some aluminum from a can sandwiched between the IACV and the IM and see if that solves the high idle issues before you spend any money on anything.

The way the OP describes the problem, it seems an awful lot like a TPS issue... to me, anyway.
