LS swap does not move
Hey guys, i have a 95 del sol that i put a b18b1 in and supposedly a gsr trans. The guy said everything worked but who knows, im having a problem with something transmission related. I have a new clutch and pressure plate in with the flywheel that i got with the swap. It had some surface rust on it but i figured that would wear away. The problem is when i put the car into gear with my foot on the clutch or off it goes in without grinding, but then it doesnt move. The axles dont spin the speedo doesnt go up and its not making any noises. When i press the clutch pedal the slave is moving the fork. Im just lost and i dont want to go buy another trans if thats not the problem.
Also with the trans out of the car, if i turn the input shaft i can see the part where the axles go in spin. that makes me feel like its not a trans problem. And also the fact that it does it in all gears.. Any ideas? im thinking the flywheel is the only thing i havnt tried.
One more thing i noticed when im tightening the pressure plate the forks on it go in (get flatter) i have never really paid much attention when i was doing a clutch job, is that normal or could that be the problem?

The pressure plate thing is normal. If you can turn the input and see the diff move then my bet is your axle isnt seated all the way. I usually have to get a piece of wood and hit it with my deadblow to get the passanger side seated
I have tried putting them in more and they are in all the way. Plus the speedo doesnt move. And i dont think i said the car can sit on the ground in gear and not move or stall
Op, that does seem very strange. Im wondering if you really do have a 92-93 gsr transmission, or if youve got something like a small splined b16 transmission with the bigspline clutch. That combination woukd result in a very loose fitment between the clutch disc and input shaft. Did you make sure that the clutch plate meshed with the splines on your transmission well with no slop?
Thats the only thing I can think of at this point. The only other thing is if your clutch is adjusted super tight till the throwout is permanently holding the clutch open, but that seems unlikely.

i deff agree with ^ i think u have a small spline b16. if you can take trans back off and mic the od of the input shaft that will help alot
deff not axle seating issue as that would still allow car to stall with trans in gear on ground.
also ***** and giggles any way you had to force clutch/pp combo on (really tight going to flywheel)? rare but if you did have to force a tad bit you might have clutch backwards and would not make correct contact w/pp/flywheel
