so i got my ek9 running again i swapped a b16a 1st gen in it running a p30. everything is all stock..ive been babying it but i wanted to see if my vtec was working but i dont hear at all. and i know how its suppose to sound like this WWAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! but i cant hear yo u guys think its not connected since im running a vtec engine in a car thats not suppose to have a vtec in it. could it be in the cars harness. cuz on my engine harness its deffenetaly connected. but if its the vtec aint i suppose to get a code for it.

 

did you use the stock harness?? unless you had an Si or EX remember that when you run a Vtec engine in a car that didn't have it you have to connect it

 

Ummm....ek9 comes pre wired from the factory for vtec. Lol...just joshing you since you called your ej6 a ek9

Needs wire ran since you had a d16y7 before, and yes you should be getting a cel.

 

Did you so the swap your self and forget that VTEC needs to be wired up lol ? either way look in the FAQ sticky it's all there.
