Just curious... plan on pulling exterior parts off of a DX and an Si to go onto my Std. HB... but what is the difference really? And which ones came with the parking lights on the fenders?

 

std and dx are the same, are the years of the cars the same? and jdm fenders had signal lights

 

No... DX is a '91 model and I saw a DX on a salvage auction website that had the fenders with parking lights... but its not the one I'm pulling from

 

My std. HB is a '90 model but isn't parking lights on the fenders an option on one of those variants?

pretty sure DX was 88-91 (not 100%), and pretty sure the marker lights on the fenders where jdm only. i can't say 100% sure on the marker lights, because i can't account for Canadian models.

There often seems to be confusion betwee models

I can tell you that the civic ef gen in Canada had 4 models......

base- 4speed model, no door moldings, plastic seats, no console around shifter
CX- add a 5speed tranny, door moldings and center console, 13" wheel
DX- add cloth seats, rear wiper, tilt steering, rear area cover, red center tail light, cloth door inserts
Si- add better engine/tranny, upgraded interior, better brakes, rear sway bar, better struts, better exhust- dual out, tach in cluster, power sunroof, 14' wheels with hubcaps, 3 spoke steering wheel, dual mirrors

 

no ef ever had oem side marker in North America, every other country got them beside Canada and the US

 

yea, i wasn't 100% sure. cause your customs are different from US. for sure non came with side marker lights here in the states.

they are oem, on Japanese cars. the previous owner probably just bought those online and put them on. to get the jdm look.

 

They could be OEM...for Japan

 

The side marker topic is pretty simple.......EF's in Europe and Japan came with a "single" 194 wedge bulb in the corner lens, and the other was a single bulb in the side marker fitted in the fender.

USDM cars used two 194 bulbs in their corner lens's....one to light up amber, the other clear

 

Where could I get those type of fenders? PW:JDM wants $224 for em... that's too high lol

 

You could do one of two things......

-cut holes in your existing fenders
- buy used jdm fenders

personally, i think it's a waste of time/money

 

Where is a good place to find used JDM fenders with those lights?
