Default Are These Teeth Messed Up? (CV Axle Gear)

I am in the process of installing new CV axles, because I was having a strong vibration during acceleration (already also replaced all motor / transmission mounts). Before I slap the new ones in, I wanted to know if these "skipped" teeth inside are a problem. It almost looks like they were designed this way, because there is one on either side of the opening for the shaft. This was taken on the passenger's side - I haven't looked at the driver's side yet. Thanks.

Thank you - I installed it all and the vibrations seem to be better, but not totally gone. What next?! I've already done motor mounts and CV axles, inner/outer tie rods ends have been recently replaced, wheels were rotated (I was thinking it could have been uneven wear or something), recent alignment, master cylinder / slave cylinder (unrelated issue), ball joints aren't new but look good.. clutch?! I am unsure at this point.

Jack the front wheels up, grab them at 12 and 6 and try and move the tire to check ball joints. Then 3 and 9 to check tie rods. If you have play checkin both things then its probably bad wheel bearing. If there's movement when shaking the wheel just look at ech part to see what's moving
