Default What distributors are compatibile with a 2000 civic ex?

I need a new distributor. The bearing in my distributor is bad. I have seen some saying that any 1996-2000 civic dizzy will fit, yet some say it will only work if it is 99-00. You guys know? The engine is a d16y8.

Thanks

99-00 I would think as 96-98 is obd2a not obd2b. I might be wrong and the fact of a/b may have no affect on the distributer plugs. either way I think you would need one for a y8 instead of being able to use one from a y7(because of VTEC). could be wrong that's the way it is with integra's tho a ls one won't work with a GS-R/ITR one.

'99 - '00 Civic except HX/Si. '96 - '98 have a different plug. Y7/Y8 distributors are the same.

Does this mean distributors from a DX, LX, or EX are the same in a '99 and '00?

Would all '99 and '00 DX, LX and EX (CX too) have had a d16y8 (or d16y7)?
(Sorry if I'm being redundant by asking the the above question)

Lastly what's the distributors designation/ model #?
