Can somebody tell me what this is???

I'm so confused. I've looked everywhere for help. What is this thing that sticks out of the side of the transmission? My best guess is it has something to do with the clutch.

that would be the slave cylinder. it moves the clutch fork back and forth engaging and disengaging the clutch.

Thanks. That probably explains the cross-wire tubing that runs to it: 5th gen civics got hydraulic clutches.

Yep they stopped doing cable clutch in 91 IIRC
