Default Need help finding TDC for gsr obd1

I bought a new oem Obd1 vtec gsr dizzy, with my old one on the car would misfire on full throttle, would bog out etc wtc. So I took it off, and threw the new one on without making sure everything was correct. I tried turning it on. It wouldn't start, it would just misfire alot. I checked firing order a number of times but noting. So I bought new NGK spark plug wires, and spark wires, a cap and the black thing that has a little gold thing sticking out of it which spins under the cap... don't know what it's called (******* noob) but yes, I'd like to make sure my timing is right and I have TDC, correct firing order and right position for the dizzy. Thank you. Also my compression on every cylinder is 210.

that lil thing is the rotor. the cap and rotor........ you dont know that but you know your compression??????? wtf thats weird.

i woudl bring that car to someone who knows what they are doing. dont just throw parts at it hoping to fix the issue. you must figure out the problem and address it.

you cant guess its the wires or the plugs......

there is plenty of info here if you search a lil.

please take the time and understand your motor.

also changing out your dizzy will not effect your belt timing lmao. it will effect your ignition timing. and thats a whole other search.

also can you proove that your compression is 210? that seems too perfect all of them being that on

my advice would be make sure everything is correct and then turn your car on. i noticed you mentioned everything wasnt correct so that should be a easy fix.

good luck

Well ya, I forgot it was a rotor so I replaced the old one with a new one, and did the same with my cap... Yes, I know my compression cause I own a compression tester.

I'm trying to find someone, but none of my friends our none of my friends friends aren't mechanics and know much.. I got the new plugs , wires , etc. etc. 1) Cause I figured it would help the problem, and 2) is was about time I got new one anyways lol.

Thank you for the pics, I couldn't find any anywhere..

Yes, if you'd like I can prove to you what my compression is.. As soon as it stops pouring every single day (Florida).. I'll do another test and take pics.

Its a very healthy Gsr, only 70,000 miles and never really beat on.

I'm pretty sure these two are suppose to be facing the same direction. The UP and the lines were covered...

You will never get your base timing correct if you don't take off the valve cover, unless you have xray vision.

Have to pull the valve cover. Turn the crank till the timing mark lines up at tdc for #1. Just behind the cam gears there is a place to put dowel pins to ensure the cams are alliened. If the dowel will not drop through the hole and into the hole on the cam, the timing is off.

Thanks for the help guys!

I fixed all the timing, the first time I started the car it started right up. But, my idle was at 3k?! So first thing I thought was the distriubutor, so I moved it around and the idle dropped to 2k, now it stays there.
