I have a 1992 Honda Civic VX with 260K miles that burns a little oil (no blue/white smoke tho). I'm trying to determine the best oil to use that won't compromise my fuel economy too much. Any recommendations? I'm currently using Gastrol GTX High mileage which is a blend (not full synthetic).

Dammit! Not another tired *** oil thread!

 

Use regular dino and save the money you'd spend on "high mileage" oil and put it in the bank for a new/used engine or rebuild if it ever become necessary in the future. No further comment on this, these oil posts are on EVERY vehicle forum you'll visit.

Keep your interval between 3k-5k mi. on conventional.....you'll be fine.
