Default 7 or 8 psi sohc greddy turbo

what would be a safe setup for this?

currently running sohc greddy kit, dsm 1st gen bov and smic.

i have a walbro 255 lph intank (i kno i kno, inlines rule here) sitting on my desk waiting to be put in and i'm about to get colder plugs. and i'm stilling runnin the fmc even tho everyone thinks it sux. will it be safe to run 7 or possibly (crossing fingers) 8 psi without breaking anything? and this would only be for race as well. i've ran 6 before for awhile but i still only run 5 daily

thanks guys.

when i was a sohc greddy i was pushing 10 lbs after i got injectors and a intank pump, which i still use on my dohc. i believe that a fuel pump is surpose to push not pull thats why im against inline pump. but back to your question you should be fine pushing 8 lbs. can that fmc read 8lbs?

I ran 10 PSI with a Mazda MX 6 intercooler and Factory pump and injectors + FMU. no probs, no detonation. ran mid 14s

originally when it came out it was said that the blue box couldnt handle over 8 or 9 lbs. but i think i have seen pple running 10 or 12 as long as they were really careful with their fuel management. i try not to be too overoptimistic and blow my setup up, but i'm just checking to see other pples opinion and experiences on wat has and can be done. thanks again guys

oh definitely safe as long as your meeting your fuel requirements. 7-8psi isn't too much, it may not run efficient (rich) but it's safe. just look at getting some larger injectors and a fuel controller.

No 8psi on your setup is not safe, 7psi is the limit until you get a better tuning device!!! ie bigger injectors.

wrong. 8 is safe with stock injectors as long as you have a fuel pump, fpr (preferably 12:1), and some sort of fuel management (i.e. vafc, hondadata, etc). tuning is key.

actually it is safe...im using blue box and i was still running rich. my setup is greddy turbo, greddy small FMIC, turbo xs type s bov, turbo xs mbc, and 2.25" exhaust. mine runs nice and strong with no sign of detonation, although my boost drops back off to about 5psi in the upper rpms due to a leak in my piping im guessing.

hey boostin how much u currently running daily?

just got the pump i this evening and i've been running 7 for a short while. the difference between 7 and 6 feels so much more noticeable than between 5 and 6. im waiting on the fpr and gauge and maybe i'll save up for some larger injectors. man i'd love to feel 8 soon.....

neone got a good fpr and fuel pressure gauge they got for sale? lemme know

i have ran the 12:1, 255 intank, stock inj, missing link, command flo regulator. @ 8psi for a long time with no problems (or tuning) :knock on wood: it hasnt blown in over a year and a half so it must be ok.
