intercooler piping on crx?
if i keep stock front crossmember, and use a front mount intercooler. ho would the drivers side (of ic) run? wouldn't the crossmember be in the way? i am taking about the intercoolers that have one pipe come in where ur cai would be, and the other does a "u" bend and goes around somewhere? or would it just be easier to use a side mount? thanks
I built my piping on my 89 civic si. Have the compressor side of the turbo on the drivers side, have the piping come out and down through where the washer jug used to be, the forward, across the front, through the intercooler, back, and up through where the cai would go.
Some pics to help you out............
This is the way mine runs just in front of the x-member. Note my radiator has been tilted to accomplish this.
Drivers side piping. Where the stock A/C lines run there is a hole that can be enlarged quite a bit to accomidate I/C piping. You must move the stock horn to the opposite side.
Full frontal. This is the DRAG III I/C. I have flipped it upside down and bolted it to 2 flanges I had welded onto the lower front radiator support. The 2 flanges line up with the tabs on the I/C. Normally those tabs would be used to bolt onto the bumper support in the newer cars that the DRAG III kits are made for, I had to improvise.
Passengers side.

I'm gonna redo mine so it doesn't have to waste all that pipe going through the windshielf washer fluid hole. Many ways to do it though...here how it currently is:

Hey RGAZ....I see a pic on your site of tail on end of my old crx from the Elgin meet! Good old days...damn i can't believe that was 98'. I want to go back.
well i am about to buy a greddy kit. haven't gotten around to what ic i will use. my bigest wonder is...how can i keep the A/C with turbo? i have the d16z6, and so i have a lot more room than the b16 does. i don't even think i will need a new radiator to fit the turbo. but i might if i put the A/C fan and all that back on. i do like the idea of fliping it over and running that one pipe next to the radiator.
