Default First pull on turbo setup (video inside)

Stock b18b ls with arps
dsm 450's
neptune
precision ar .63 hot .60 trim cold t3
2.5 downpipe and exhaust
7psi

Thing doesn't spool til 4k.

In this pull was not all the way on the throttle and was shifting early.

Tell me what you think, should it seem more responsive than this or is this normal? I'm excited

Seems normal. wheel measurements of the turbo would be nice just for verification, but they seem small enough for just your needs. Just enjoy it already. No more e-pinions. just drive.

It seems like it's not pulling like it should. Comparing my pull to similar setups and the accel doesn't seem right. Going to check for boost leaks tomorrow.

Same setups from your location, there are alot of things that can change outputs. It never hurts to look for leaks and such but it looks normal to me...

Ok I adjusted the bov, it appeared to be exhaling air at the slightest rpms while idle. Less than 3k and it was spitting air out.

Here's a clip of the datalog

and a video

Ok got it all street tuned on 7 psi. Here's a pull launching with antilag building 2-3psi before launch and preloading the axles.

Again, sounds normal.. And it's ok for the BOV to do that. Better that it not being able to release as needed. It's only 7psi.. It isn't broken so pleased don't do anything worse like try to fix it.

Sounds fine.. We're you expecting something else? (Curious)

Mac whats that turbo equal to a 50 trim? in any event something of that size on a mear 7 pounds of boost that looks and sounds spot on for a b18b. it will wake up a bit more around 12 pounds when the turbo gets into its efficiency range more.

Yeah I'm happy with where it's at now and the street tune is pretty solid. Still need to get to a dyno and try for 280hp. Not sure where it's at now but I know it's not close to that.

Yep. You are spot on , my friend. The SC3431 is 54mm ind/ 75mm exd (aka "50 trim") using a Precision .60A/R compressor cover and stage III turbine wheel good to about 45-47lbs/min. It'll be more responsive as boost pressure increases.

That seemed awfully slow for a turbocharged setup. Check for leaks, potentially your turbo is just plain too small for your needs.
