Default New VSS Help!

I have seen videos of VSS replacement on my D16Z6 5 speed. Besides removing the intake is there anything i need to look out for? Calibration? On a somewhat related note, I need to find my transmission code. It's either a A000 or B000. Where could I find that stamped?

Surely it should be on the transmission? Regardless, it's a D-series.

Well the last owner swapped out the auto for a manual. He did such a damn good job that it had me fooled. Except the carpet was not attached under the door sills (ECU), the clutch pedal didn't match, the PRND321 was on the gauges (but didn't light up), but I looked up the VIN months ago and figured out it was a factory auto. ANYWAY... it's time for a clutch replacement. But before I have them drop the transmission I want to BE SURE IT IS THE 5 SPEED IN THE 95 CIVIC EX FACTORY MANUAL. Not some other transmission. Or does that even matter? I haven't worked on trannies before. And I knew where the VSS is, just wanted some pointers as what NOT to do. Thanks.

I don't understand. You wanna install VSS right? If you have small hands, you don't need to remove intake. But yes. To have clear space to work with, just remove the intake. Then take the old VSS out and put the new VSS in. That's it. What's all this about clutch changing? Off topic?

I knew THAT. I was talking about where to find the transmission code stamp on the tranny. The VSS is directly under the throttle body on top of the tranny.
