Default Aluminum Rods and Dowel Pin Holes

Who here would like to see a bearing with pre-drilled dowel holes for Aluminum rods from Clevite? The large question is if most manufacturers use the same size dowel. I would hope so but maybe some of you guys can elaborate on pin size variance. I've been discussing this with the Clevite Rep for a little while now.

the CB1777H has been a main choice for us as far as i have seen from different shops for these rods....this part has been discontinued and replaced with CB1353H and CB1353HX(extra .0005" of clearance per halve) Just a heads up.

Thoughts?

Sounds good. I just sent my bearings to grp, but I guess it would save you some time and shipping. Does anybody see a disadvantage to having them predrilled? I guess a person could do it themselves also with a jig.

its not hard to drill your own bearings, you just need a good drill bit and a debur tool.

3/16 is grp size dowl

There are many pre-drilled bearing options out there for other engines and setups. Im only trying to find out if "we' want that option.

The cost shouldn't deviate from the current costs.

I'd prefer to have them pre-drilled and save myself a few minutes of time. Put me down for 10 sets.

well this is not a preorder. i'm just trying to see what the consensus is here for this. They just dont want to have 1,000 initial sets laying around for a year.

GRP: 3/16" pin

is that normal size?

I sell a lot of aluminum rods, and drilled bearings, and I wouldn't buy them if that makes any difference ha ha. I don't think the market for aluminum rods is big enough to justify it and they would need to stock 6 different bearings...plus all the thickness variances. Waste of $

You know CB-1777H is still available though right? I have them here if you can't find any and want to use those.

im going to assume the other sizes luke/josh are talking about would be for different series engines (k,f,b,h,d,j,c) also rod journal width could vary with crank and rod combinations
