Just got another Del Sol
Well, I finally have another Del Sol. I had one during paramedic school, but blew the motor driving back and forth to El Paso from ABQ... didn't have the money to rebuild it, so I traded it for a working blazer. Now that I'm settled as a medic supervisor, I decided to pick up another one. Flew out to Lubbock and picked her up yesterday, then drove her home

93 Del Sol S
My main plans are to get new wheels and tires, new suspension (it's pretty well shot right now), source the parts for AC and cruise... And then just have fun with it. Oh, and get a new ashtray assembly and glove box, and put the rear window correctly on track. That's really all that was wrong with it when I bouth it. Rather unmodified too.
If anyone has any advice or parts lists for what I need to add in cruise, please let me know. I've been researching it but can't come up with a hard parts list.

I used to live in San Antonio a few months ago and I can tell you that when I bought my del sol, there were about 5 or six wrecked ones parting out on CL.
I know it's a long *** way from NM but it might be worth a weekend drive.
AFAIK for CC you'll need an intake from a car with CC (so 95 or later I believe) as well as all the stuff to hook it up.
You could try to find a wrecked sol or even do a 97 Si swap, it's got the D16Y8 motor so you'll get a few extra ponies and VTEC

!I like the look of these cars, so many people ruin them with a ridiculous amount of plastic and more wings than a German Triplane
i used to own a del sol and whenever i removed the targa top the car felt unstable like it needed roof support.. so i never took the top off.. too much body movement and unstableness for me
Honestly it's in much better shape than the majority of the ones I see for sale around here. A few dents and the inside needs a little work. But it's a twenty year old car lol
Really? I love the car without the top on it. I take it off every chance I can.

OP the car looks nice and if you want to find parts i'd suggest more TX searches on CL, i saw many of them in the Austin/San Antonio area
If you have teh ash tray and glove box I might be willing to see if you'll part with em lol. And I need to raid the junk yards and see what I can get locally eventually. Just got out of the hospital after having my gallbladder out (it ruptured) so I haven't even felt like crawling into the Sol the last week or so.
