Aem ems 1 idle and misfiring problem
Hi, I just bought and aem version 1 ems 30-1000 off ebay. Since I bought I bought am having trouble calibrating the ecu. I try all cal that match my engine in the aem file The car does not start without applying slight throttle and dies down 2000 rpm dont hold idle also misfire in high rev. My engine is a honda b16a with obd2a wiring using conversion obd1 harness. I need to know the exact ignition tooth/fuel tooth and dwell setting for oem honda distributor. My engine run fine with my stock oem ecu.Can anyone please help and advice.Thank you
You should upload the turbo 440 cal for the part number of your box. Get the engine running at 900rpm and sync ign timing. Take it to a qualified tuner.
The startup cal has the teeth setting done already. It should start.

Hi, Thank you so much for your email. I syncronise the timing and stat syn is on and I got no timing errors on internal logging. I already try different map same result. Any idea what it may be? Thank you
hello, I also calibrate the tps 1% at idle according to Aem and 100 % at wot. I got an innovate mtx wideband fueling is ok 12.5 afr on cold start. I also check spark plugs its ok not fooling plugs. Thank you

Walk through the troubleshooting steps with aem tech support. They will have u log certain parameters and determine if the box has mechanical issues.

Hi, My car has been tune by a reputed Tuner in my country. he adjusted the idle step by step but no success. it seem that the ems loose power every 5 sec.Thank you
Hi, I try to register on aem forum. I get the acknowledge email but no email confirmation from them. I try lots of time with no success. Aem support is bad.Thank you
So you registered on the forum and have not spoke to anyone just yet...how does this determine for you that AEM support is bad?
I'd look at the Eprom inside the ems. That old box was before they added the foam. Make sure the Eprom is seated completely. Do you ever have hard time connecting to it or does it get stuck at "Loading Checksums" or anything?
AEM's forum is not their tech support. Their support is one of the best in the industry. Have you tried to call the phone number on the front of the instructions for tech support or e-mailed them at emstech@aempower.com
