How much will a straight through muffler help my turbo car. Right now i have the hks super dragger. I'm pretty sure its not a straight through muffler. Also it looks like the actually muffler diameter is around 2 inches. Whats a good quiet straight through muffler??? Thanks in advance

 

It would be better if the inside of the muffler matched the pipe diameter. Straight through mufflers can't really be quiet, though I have magnaflow mufflers for my turbo car. It's straight through, perforated core, and it sounds okay...not to buzzy, just a bit noisy.

My Tanabe RM(2.25") isn't that loud. Even without the silencer, it's nowhere near as loud(and annoying) as RM/N1 style exhausts on N/A cars. I'm going to a 3" Carsoun, 3" N1, and 3" piping soon though. Hopefully that won't be too loud with an inline resonator.

 

I have a Borla straight through (though it is a side in/center out) muffler and it is dead quiet at idle, but opens up alright when driving hard. It's 2.23" and no resonator, mang.

 

i was thinking more along the line of 2.5 to 3 " mufflers... any other suggestions?

 

Summitt racing is where I get all my exhaust stuff from. They have Trush glass packs for great prices and they work well. 2.5" 28" long runs for only $17.95 or go with the2.5" 45" long one for $35.95...but I'm not sure if there is enough space for the longer one?
