Had a buddy drop by last night, he just picked up a B20B swapped 92 EG SI hatch. The car runs very strong for nothing more than what it is.
The guy he purchased it from said it was tuned by a very reputable tuner (would'nt give him the name) and that it had a "ghost tune".
I attempted to suck the tune off the chip and look at it in Crome but it wouldn't let me. Is it possible to encrypt a tune on a EPROM? I keep getting "Error, could not open file"
And before anyone jumps my case about copying tunes and other rants, I will not and do not do that. It just had my curiosity and we both wanted to see what the MAP looked like.

Did you try to read the program off the chip in Crome, or did you pull the binary and try to open it from file?
There's absolutely wrong with looking at other people's work. It's how the human mind learns.

I tried both, using CROME to pull the .bin file and save it and then I used Moates Burn 2 software also, neither option would allow me to open it in CROME.

You don't just copy it and expect it to open. You have to manually edit the bin file and set the first code addresses at 0000 Hex, since it starts at 8000. If you don't know how or if you did and its not working then obviously it doesn't open with Crome .
Send me the bin file.

sword- I'm a noob at the Honda tuning thing man. Been tuning GM and Fords for years but never touched a honda until recently when I inherited by deceased brothers hatch.
I'll try and send you the .bin this evening if you want to take a look.

it's probably a gold rom, or a neptune rom. try renaming the .bin to .new and move it to the NEW file in the crome directory, if it lets you open it there (assuming you have a pro license) then it's a gold file. otherwise it's a neptune rom, or Phearable's useless basemaps that nobody can open.

I have no problems opening phearables basemaps with Crome.. have looked at several of them and I wouldn't call them uselessm they aren't that bad really.
