JDM b16a no vtech
I installed a usdm b16a head gasket on my JDM b16a now Vtech wont work? Is the gasket the reason? If it should be working with the USDM gasket then I will start pulling codes. I know all the most common reasons why Vtech will fail. I have looked into most. If the Gasket is not compatible i'm sure it's due to oil pressure issues. Also FYI Since I have a JDM B16 I have no oil pressure gauge. So I have no Idea if I am getting a drop in pressure.

I know I read in another thread that there is a dif between the two gaskets. That the USDM has an oil pressure gauge, the JDM dose not. So the gasket on the JDM has an oil passage in it that the USDM dose not. I just need to confirm this. If there is a plug I can remove from the head can I re route that oil passage? I believe this is one of those bolt on differences that is effecting me. I may be wrong but I'm not throwing a cell. But I have not tried throwing a code while at 5,500 rpm when vtech should be kicking in. I'm getting speed signal to the ECU, I have oil pressure, I don't think I have a bad thermostat. My wiring is good as well.
I think my ecu should be throwing code but my set up is jank. I have three wire coming hooked up to it (this is how it was when I bought it). The guy told me I just ground the orange wire and touch the red and blue together. I tried still a solid check engine light. I have an integra wire harness and it's pretty raggedy. So I started looking at all my sensors. I found that the sensor on my thermostat is snapped off. I am a nuub but this is my first car like this so I'm trying to learn. Is that the engine coolant temp sensor? Would that being broke off cause my vtech not to work? It is also using gas pretty bad. I had a friend do the gasket job. Vtech worked before he did the gasket. Now it don't.
If the coolant temp sensor is broke off and the ecu thinks the motor is cold, vtec will not engage.
Side note....curious what the 'h' you are placing on the end of vtec means?

Must be....never seen someone be corrected a few times from thread to thread and still call a function of your motor a kids toy or a phone. Cracks me up. Does it say "vtech" on your valve cover?
