Default speedometer not working

I tried to search but all it gives me is that stupid no matches try some different terms BS.

Anyways, its a 96 EX and the speedo works every now and then just bought the car from my buddy and he said he took a multimeter to the connector for the speed sensor and it was getting a signal. So I guess he ruled out the speed sensor, I dunno.

Anyways, he said he saw some place online (can't find it now though) to fix a solder point in the speedo itself but I can't seem to find this. Does anyone have any idea? I'd like to get this fixed asap. Thanks.

Check the vss plug for corrosion, make sure it's making a good connection. All so check the wires for brakes in them.
