Default Need help! 89 std hatch coolant system problem

Okay so the story is, in the end of last year my cracked due to not knowing temp on the temp gauge.. After that i ended up replacing the radiator with a new one, changed the thermostat, fan switch and temp gauge sensor. Tried burping air out of the radiator also. Thinkin it was fixed she was drivable so i went to an job interview. In my way to the job i noticed my temp kept rising higher and higher, so im like wtf is going on why am i over heating when i changed what i needed to change. So after that day i stopped driving my car because the when i got home the motor was tryin fight itself or something.

Recently i started my ef because i missed it. And she started without a fight. So i let her sit on idle. Waited 10 mins the bottom hose was still cold(remember i changed the thermostat), so ended up waiting 20-30 mins in, the fan kicks on and the bottom hose is hot so im thinkin my car is good to go since the fan kicked on. Drove it around the block 3 times and the temp kept spiking up. Which is wierd the thermostat and fan worked on idle but when im driving she spikes.

I need help figuring out whats the problem

Can someone in this forum help. Its my daily and ive been taking the bus to work.

Thanks for any type of help i really need my car running again

Sounds like there's still air in the system to me, although I'm not sure what you are saying cracked... I would try bleeding the air out of the system again, if that doesn't work its very possible your head gasket went if the car overheated

It does sound like your having headgasket issues. Check to see if you're losing coolant into your cylinders.

I changed the head gasket 5 months before i basically blew my radaitor. Which was like last February??? I think. Sometime in the first quarter of last year. She runs fine no smoke after start jus condensation before operating temp. But when warmed up no smoke of any kind at all. Jus the wierd thing is on idle and jus sittin the coolant system would act normal like thermostat would open up and the bottom hose would be hot like the upper. Fan turns on. But when i drive it the car overheats, when i pull over and checked the bottom hose it was cold and the top was hot. So the thermostat wasnt opening up for some reason. I bleed the coolant by takin the cap off and let the fan bust on like 3-4 times also. But when i turn it on with the cap off the coolant would shoot out from the radiator.

I need help.... **** the bus. Lol

Try bleeding the coolant at the bleeder valve by the valve cover
Did you have the head checked when you did the headgasket? Could be warped

The head was fine and took it to the machine shop for hot tank and resurfacing.

I'll try and bleed it from the bleeder valve
