Default Tial Q BOV open at idle...... help

removed an old kit from my car and installed a new turbo system. I have the Tial Q blow off valve but it seems that it is 100% open at idle. Some people have said that this is normal. However my old greddy type s didn't do this. Also I really don't like the fact that its sucking in un filtered air. Some people have added washers to stiff in the spring more. Other people say change the spring out. some people have changed the spring all to find out that it is then to stiff and promotes turbo chatter. Not good..... any advise on what I should do???? I cant believe tial did not made this product adjustable only by internal springs....

That is because it is a quality product. Using an adjustment nut to provide a dynamic change is a joke in itself when you think about how sensitive a BOV really is. The design to maintian barely enough pressure to stay closed at idle but to be able to vent very quickly as needed. Don't knock something that you are clearly too ignorant to figure out.

TiAL made a spring chart with different springs and vacuum correlations for a reason. It is called find out your vacuum at idle and purchase the correct spring. It is really that simple. When you add washers you actually change the pressure of the spring and restrict travel. It could cause early coil bind as it wasn't intended to do that by design...

use your boost gauge to see how many inches of vac it pulls and get a spring at the limit so it will not pull open.

You need to be sure you can read VACUUM as not all boost gauges do that...
