Default Looking to build my D series for boost but cant find much aftermarket parts

hello all, recently i've came to the conclusion that i want to build my car for boost, since its about that time that i tear apart my motor and start to build it up for what i want it to handle. im not looking to be the fastest or for huge hp gains, mostly lookin for about 200whp - 300whp since this is my daily and i want to take it out to the track for a little weekend fun

however i ran into a bit of a problem. out of all the sites that i have bookmarked for parts i cant seem to find much for the d15b7. i already have a turbo in mind that im sourcing from a eclipse gst and im trackin down a manifold from a vx/cx hatch or hf as im tryin for a budget build though im not gonna cheap out on the vitals. i dont know if its me but i cant seem to get much out of google in terms of bottom end parts aside from ebay, and id really like to avoid getting anything from there because i want to do this right. im experienced with building motors in the past and can do port/hone/bore jobs as well.

so can anyone help me and steer me in the right direction so i can put something together for my D? any help and info would be greatly appreciated

You can easily (and safely) pull 180whp on a stock bottom end, with the proper tune. That tiny T25 is going to max out around that, though, and will not be able to get you into the 300whp mark.

yeah that sounds about right with that sized turbo but i figured im gonna pull the motor out, i wanna do it right and build the bottom for a future turbo upgrade to meet my goal

Brutal and honest truth? While you have the engine out, replace it. No one makes con rods or pistons worth half a **** for the D15B7. You should be able to pick up an SI swap (D16Z6 engine, matching ECU) for cheap. Toss some forged rods in there, and that motor will easily run 300 with a proper turbo.

It sucks to hear it, but you just aren't going to do it with the B7.

The only bottom end parts I know of are H-beam rods from Crower, which are expensive, and now CX Racing, which are not. I researched the CX racing rods and they seem to be of the same quality as anything anyone else is offering. I even read a post somewhere where the guy even X-rayed them and they didn't seem to have any flaws. People that have been running them haven't reported an issue.

Read the Forced Induction FAQ, first and foremost.

Once you know what you're doing, you can find all the parts you'll ever need in the marketplace: www.hondamarketplace.com

**You're better off finding a Z6 or Y8 because rods for a D15b cost more than a Vitara built Z6/Y8**

If your doing a d15
Then you can get cxracing rods
New Pm3 pistons
That makes the compression ratio around 10.2 to 1
Which is fine for boost
And then you don't have to worry about Rods failing which is really the biggest week point of the d series engine

How is that more expensive then eagle/vitara?

Looks like its 50 dollars cheaper for the rods and pistons to me

How do you use CX rods on PM3 pistons?

how do you mean? you get the pistons pressed onto the rods like you would with any rod and piston using normal honda pistons with pressed pins

the only difference is that you are using pressed wrist pins instead of floating which the vitara pistons use but you cant use vitara pistons in a d15 because the c/r will be like 4.4 to 1 or something

Try buying a z6 crank off someone get some ACL bearings or just some new ones from bearing king use z6 pistons, ARP studs and cometic HG and throw the Turbo on and boost. Single came are pretty good at handling boost for daily driving. But that's my suggestion I know there are boost pros here who would know more.

You can go a route similar to this one but running boost on a stock block gets old real quick. You'll want to up the boost and the only way you get to do that is build the block up past using OEM parts. And if you're going to crack open the engine anyway you might as will go all the way. Just my take on things.

Call RSP and ask for Fernando, that guy gave me a lot info, I just bought 1500 in parts off them for my D16y8. Trust there is parts out there, you just have to fork out the cash.
Wiseco makes pistons for d16s and you should remember when putting this thick *** rods down in there, you gotta notch the bottom of your block and the crank girdle. Js
I'm building my d16 for boost too

So I stopped paying attention to hondas in 1999. Can someone explain to me about Bisi and why he is hated/loved? I assume he knows his ****, he sounds like a smart/nerdy guy.

Swore up and down that all of his **** was made in America, come to find out most of it is made in Taiwan/China/Korea/whatever asiatic country you'd like. Some of his stuff is good, but it's not worth the price, nor the hard on certain people (looking at you, ReaperMan) have for him.

lol i only get the best. he offers those cheap brand to people on budget. that's not me, like bisi said you get what you pay for, so did julio his high end stuff is american maybe you should do a little bit of research. we got a aem ems v2 with free tune for 1.3k which is what the ecu cost, with eugo wideband not that cheap hondata crome neptune ****. ill pick bisi's parts over skunk2 **** castings. even the cams are horrible. blox, etc, like i said do more research. hes famous for a f22 with 302hp ALL MOTOR N/A running low 9's at the track. hes a mad scientist, at least he knows **** way WAY!!!!! better then ANY so called tuner. call your local dyno shops and ask if they know what partial throttle tune is? i bet no one will. i guess if his stuff wasn't so good he wouldn't shut down his shop for the big race season. have you even seen his porche? op do some research you'll see why hes a mad scientist. his hated because he more knowledgeable then the tuners out of state

"Those cheap brands"? You realize I'm talking about Bisimoto in-house brand hardware, right? I'm not even a professional tuner, and I know what a partial throttle tune is. I have three friends who all make a living tuning cars, both import and domestic, and they ALL know what a partial throttle tune is.

Get off your high horse, pull Bisi's dick out of your ***, and stop shilling for him.

So Bisi is a good tuner that sells his own parts also. Got it. Since I am no where near Cali I will not have him tune my cars.

I went through my Bisi stage when i first started fixing up this car. But when I heard about the scandal I thought twice. I won't say there's nothing of his that I wouldn't buy but I'd have to think long and hard first if they do business that way.
