Ok i have a 98 civic ex... Im doing a rear disk conversion and got trailing arms off a 92 integra and im keeping the stock brakes for the front... I bought brand new everything pads, rotors, calipers, even stainless braided brake lines... Then i bleed the brakes a couple times and i have no brakes... pedal goes right to the floor... So then i changed my proportioning valve to a 00 civic SI also brand new... Bleed them several time again and still same problem... My next step is getting a brand new 00 civic SI master cylinder and seeing if thats the problem but if not then idk wat it could be cause everything is brand new... Please i need help any suggestions...

 

You may still have air in the lines.

Or the first time you bled the brakes you may not have topped the resevior off enough and pushed the diaphragm in the MC too far causing it to fail. Soooo the new MC may fix your problem just dont F that one up

 

Yea i bleed them plenty times and no air or leaks... And i put bottle of brake fluid upside down in resevior... Im gonna get a new m/c and hope it works... I wonder if i need a bigger m/c like would a new integra m/c and booster work? Or should i just get it from a 00 SI

 

you can use another ex MC. the EX master cylinders and prop valves are the same as the SI on sixth gens

 

What order are you bleeding them in? Should be RR, LF, LR, RF. If you're bleeding them in the traditional furthest from the MC first method they'll never bleed.

Yeah, your bleeding order is wrong. Honda set the brake circuits up in a diagonal pattern so if you bust a line you have a working front and rear brake on opposites sides. Bleeding the way you are just pushes the fluid around. Do it the way I posted earlier and it should bleed.

 

Really? maybe that should be added somewhere in the FAQ. I didn't see that in either of the stickied threads in there. Not arguing just trying to clear up some possibly conflicting info

Your biggest problem is thinking that breaks will stop your car. You need brakes.

If that doesn't work try ^,v,^,v,<,>,<,>,b,a, then start your car. This should give you an infinite amount of brake power
