Default Hardened vs non hardened cross pin?

hello honda tech I am about to rebuild my well weather 300,000+ mile ys1 in my 2nd generation integra. i have a torn down ys1 gsr trans that I am using for its gearset aside from 5th gear.

to my knowledge some of the early ys1s had non hardened diff pins? is there any way to tell a hardened from a non hardened cross pin. i have a few s80 open diffs laying around that i could swap over to.

Keeping the open diff in for now until i can afford a lsd. already purchased new seals and looking at synchro rebuilds kits now.

thanks,
-Ben

The best B series diff pins are gold if you can find them. The black diff pins are hardened and the silver pins are the weakest.
