Default s300 or ectune for me?

I got a 97 coupe with a fully built ls vtec. My block is getting sleeved right now by GE. I am aiming for whatever power i make on pump so around 500whp+-. My problem is i dont know what engine management i should go with. I like hondata and ectune. Im not much of a guru on data logging and changing my tune myself. My intention was to just get the car dynoed and leave it how it is. I am not gonna tune my own car. John Vega is going to tune it for me when i get my car all back together. Only advantage i heard about s300 was datalogging is s300 worth it for me or should i just go with ectune?

You are referring to ectune on a chip vs s300.

Both solutions will yield the same power result.

Hondata S300 has advantages like coil on plug as well as the ability for you to use a laptop to connect to the ecu and make changes if needed without having to bring the car back to the tuner to be modified.

If you have specific questions concerning the two, simply contact me directly & I can answer the questions.

If you are not doing any of the tuning yourself. I would say that you should go with what ever platform your tuner, John Vega, suggests.

If it's down to a coin toss between S300 and eCtune. I'd toss the coin go with Neptune!

on the consumer side there's not a huge difference between the platforms, so go with your tuner's preference since that will probably yield the most competent results.
However the boost control functions on Neptune are superior and offers cleaner launches.
