Default I need help ! Aftermarket header noob question

So basically my stock oem header on my 99 sedan is all beat up and rusty. I want to replace it with a cheap aftermarket 1 or eBay no name. Is there anything I should know about so that I won't have a CEL? My stock cat is on the exhaust manifold, does an after market has to be too? Will I need an extension for the 02 ?

Will it work with this ?

"Note: If your Civic has a catalytic converter on the exhaust manifold this header will not fit."

You can extend the wires... well if you can.

"Stock cat is on the exhaust manifold" thats new to me, don't you mean its on the back of the down pipe under the car and if it is the header your looking at will work fine just keep the cat and dont put on the test pipe

99 sedan. Usually has a D16y7 engine on it. The manifold and catalytic converter used on it are mounted right to the front of the engine. Now if you're stating your configuration is different then you might want to say how it's different.

I do have a D16y7 and the cat and manifold are right in front. Explain to me what I need to get in order to mount aftermarket headers.

A header and catalytic converter for a D16Y8 and an extension for the O2 sensor.

You don't need to extend the down stream o2 sensor. Simply unwrap some of the tape on the harness and run the o2 behind the transmission and down into the secondary sensor bung. I have done this personally and it works fine. Just tape the exposed wired back up. I can post a pic if it helps.

Don't buy that junk, it might look nice but its thin low grade material, even a cheap stainless header on egay is often low grade stainless, everything isn't T304. Cheap stainless will eventually corrode
