it would be a lot easier if you just find the VIN on the engine... (yes i know its not the same as the car you have now) but i know that as being the easier way of finding out... reading a VIN is easy

 

though im thinking that 92 means

 

92 is the year of engine block cast.

 

was released in 93 i guess.

thats the thing that was getting to me cause i the H22 was introduced to the USA in 1993.... the odd part is that you were more willing to post the block stamps than to post the VIN that was riveted on to the block......... gotta love the honda crowd!!!!

 

What is that red goo in between the head and the exhaust manifold ? If that really is rtv like it appears you need to remove that. RTV does not work in exhaust systems at all.

Engine blocks don't have VIN's, they have serial numbers.

 

the ricer that owned it b4 me put it there. there isnt even a gasket. he used that instead

i have a VIN on my block (the VIN that matches the car) that VIN will tell you the year it was released

 

Take the red stuff out, clean it very good and get a gasket. You might have a leak in there. If yes you will lose a lot of power. Just saying

 

yea im going to start shooting the nuts with penetrant oil for a few days. then just pull the headers back and clean it
