i just bought a engine from a member locally and i wanted to run the vin on it. i looked all over the block/head/tranny and cant seem to find a vin plate. i see the numbers stamped under the engine code, and another number stamped on on the back of the block close to the tranny, but they both look to be like serial numbers. deff not enough enough numbers to be a vin. any help would be appreaciated.

one last question: the h22 i bought is a 92 0bd1, and the engine code stamped on the block is just h22a. i know jdm motors usually have 4 alpha numerics, and usdm engines have 5. basiclly im trying to find out the orign of my engine.

 

is the motor obd1 or 2, they started putting the vin on the obd2 motors none on the obd1
