I have a 99 civic dx, I just ordered ex headers and a cat exhaust system and I'm about to build my own cold air intake, after some cosmetic work I was thinking id swap my head for an ex head but will it be a huge difference speed wise? Obviously there will be a difference since mines non-vtec but is it worth the work and money??

 

not very big gains for the hassle. you'd need intake manifold/tb, throttle cable, rewire for vtec, head/ timing belt, distributor/wires, ecu. I would just buy a intake manifold and throttle body with ex cable and call it a day.

 

No. And the majority of the time the swap is done incorrectly.
