You can't run the wires through the plastic grommet. There is probably a way to do it but it's probably not even worth the effort. I ran into the same issue when I was wiring speakers. I just cut a hole in the rubber and fed it through and even that was a pain! I just taped the speaker wire to the the rest of it and put silicone around the holes I cut in the rubber.

You have to unclip the plug to the grommet that you show in you picture from the outside. Then you can wiggle (down or up) on the door harness. It has a white plastic cover over it in the inside of the door. After you get it from the door you can run you wires through the plug and into the rubber and then into the car. Just did this myself upgrading the stock 18-22ga speaker wire to 14 gauge.

Goldsy is right also. you can't just run the wires through the grommet. I had to drill mine out. Much bigger hole than you would need but a hole none the less. Unless the mirrors and the switch both have the pins on them

Is there enough space in that harness plug to perhaps drill a small hole to run a wire through? It doesn't seem the harness has much wiggle room with it's shape to run a wire next to it (besides, it would probably pinch and eventually break from rubbing against the metal).
