Hello H-T,
I actually did a search for the above concern. My car has been doing this for years, but when a friend asked me what it was I wanted to fix it finally!
I dont believe this causes any performance issues but its very annoying to hear the buzz in the back seat gas tank area.
I found peeps with same issues on this thread but it was never solved!

The guy had a Walboro fuel pump as I do. I wonder if that could be the issue. I have an evap leak code (cant remember code # right now) but the car was doing the noise way before the code ever came. But, maybe the evap leak just got worse enough to finally throw a code?
Any help on this issue is appreciated!

Happy Friday and Cheers!

What is the CEL code? Does it repeat after resetting the ECU.
If the buzzing sound isn't the fuel pump running, then my guess is an issue with the EVAP system.

Yes its an evap leak code not sure the # need to re-check. My car had been doing the noise before it though now that I recall. Maybe that Walbro Fuel pump is glitching out. Maybe the sound is vacuum leaking in/out? Swore it sounded like electrical by fuel pump. Car will even buzz after being off all night.

Thanks for chiming in Adam
It might not have. I can't remember at this point what they were like when they were new. I do know that I was still working at the dealer when they went to this style of evap system, we were replacing parts left and right across the entire lineup of cars. If you did have a leak though, there would be no pressure to purge off the tank and you wouldn't hear anything.

I noticed the sound closer to the fill neck on the gas tank. So its something in there what is it? Also noticed that when I top gas off it splashed out the neck instead of stopping the gas pump. maybe that's to do with my evap leak code?
