Turbo install--Have some questions
I'm in the middle of my install and have a couple of questions. First, does this look ok for my turbo oil return line?

It's about the best lineup I could manage around the downpipe. Of course when I actually install it I'll bend it away from the downpipe too. My only concern was that it wouldn't be steep enough for the oil to drain down the line.
Next, my turbo compressor housing is crammed right up on one of the AC lines. Should I wrap this line in some sort of heat protective wrap or something?

Thanks for any help.

yeah. you should wrap the ac in some wort of heat wrap. you can buy it at most automotive stores...some people dont, and you can probably get away without it, but it'd be smart to wrap it up...
ac repair can get pricey.

he is right, I didnt wrap my a/c line and it was fine when i had my turbo on it, but it would rpobably be smart to get some wrap
on a side note, i see you have a couple cuts on your hands.....lol gotta love those installs....your hands hurt for a few days after
looks good.. but dude, whats up with your alien-fingers?!

Wrap it with something. I did not and my turbo kept rubbing against the line and it eventually rubbed a hole in it. No AC in SoCal in the summer sucks.
your AC line should be fine, remember thats "cold" air going through your compressor, not the hot gasses from your turbine into your downpipe.
they are not literally "cold,"
mine isnt wrapped...no problems.

thats your oil return line.....?
it needs to face down...and not up...clock your turbo again

Maybe you can try to bend the a/c line out of the way some, like bend it around the backside of the compressor housing. Wrapped or not the motor is going to move and rub through that at some point.

The return line is -10an btw.
I think I'll get some wrap for that AC line and replace that foam stuff that is on it. I don't think the line would be bendable to whoever suggested that, but I'll look at it again. Alien-fingers? I am normal, I swear! Just looks weird in that pic

Thanks for all the help!

i would wrap, when compressor not on, no flow so the liquid in the line will heat up, and may burst the line. I went overboard with the wrap but def. wrap it with something because it looks very close according to the pics and the turbo radiates alot of heat.

heat wrap it. the risk of needing a new AC line and a recharge, at the minimum, is too costly.
