what up guys?

I just put the Honda back on the road (PA winters blow bag), it's a 94 ex coupe. I put about 40 good, easy miles on her before I opened her up... Vtec seems to hit before 4k. Before she sat for a while it was around 4500 or so. Only reason that I know is because I was bored on house arrest and wired up an LED to show engagement... any thoughts?

 

Also, it has been maintained meticulously and started at least once a week and allowed to reach normal operating temp. Stabil in the fuel, the whole 9. Once filled up I added some Lucas stabilizer to the tank... no clue why it would vary. Any help appreciated.

 

Because those tachs are not accurate.

 

stock tach is usually off 200-300 rpms.

 

Thanks for the replies everybody... A few other thoughts that I've come up with.

When I bought the car, timing was advanced... put it on a light and got it back to 16 degrees. also installed a 68mm tb last summer (was a gift). would either one of these effect engagement? When the tach is around 4-5 it sounds like it is screammmming.

 

Dude. As long as it engages it is okay.

 

player, my point is... oil level is the same, nothing changed but putting timing back to stock and the throttle body... it engages fine but sounds like a risk if I take it past 5k... Used to wind out to 7 with no issues, not saying it won't but I'm paranoid as ****. That's about it I guess.
