Default Hydro gear set into YS1 case

I have searched and I am a little confused on a couple things.

It seems people are having where the diff goes in, but do I even need to transfer diffs if I am just doing the two gear set and shafts only?
Thanks in advance!

It depends, if you're going between LS and B16A no, you can just swap the ring gears, but they have the same diff anyway, all it gets you out of is having to shim the diff. You're missing something in your question, I'm assuming you were wondering about the part where you have to grind the case. As far as I can tell that only applies to putting in an LSD diff and I believe you have to do the same in hydro trans as well. If using a GS-R or ITR you will need to swap the whole diff over and shim it. You will also need to shim the mainshaft.

i just did this. you'll have to use the matching ring gear/main shaft. other than that it all drops right in.
