Default open diff to quaife lsd

is that gear on the open differential suppose to come off and go on the quaife lsd? its going on a m2f4 with a mfactory final drive also.

Yes. You need to remove the speedo gear and press it onto the Quaife. Be careful, you cannot purchase the gear separately from Honda.

Swap the speedo gear (thing the arrow's pointing at) and replace the bearings on both ends. When we installed mine it fit perfect with the original shim from the factory diff

BTW, I used a bit of heat and a gear puller to remove the speedo gear.

+1 on replacing the bearings. Double check the preload. I've always had to use a different shim.

i got the gear off and put it on the lsd and installed new bearings. having trouble finding out what the clearance is suppose to be once i install it in the case to determine if i need to shim it or not.


sorry about all this, i had this info before but then i lost it and now i cant find it again.
