Need help with 99civic jdm gsr not turning over
Recently I removed my vtec solenoid to replace gaskets. I took off the distributor first to make it easier. Removed solenoid and replaced gaskets. After I put everything back it turns over but will not start. Also I removed distributor cover and found a rusty screw and chunks of plastic in it. I've replaced the cap and rotor but still no go. Any suggestions??
Have you checked for spark and fuel?
Do you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn on the ign. switch?
Do you have power to the distributor assembly, [black/yellow] when ign. switch is in both the run and start positions?
Use an HEI spark tester to check for spark, don't just plull a spark plug lead.
You can also use a old, [or new] spark plug, pull a lead and plug the spark plug into it and ground the plug and have someone crank the engine while you look for spark.
An HEI spark tester will allow you to check for spark yourself...

Install it and do a bypass jump to crank the engine. 94

Fuel pump is priming. And there is power. I have a spark tester and there is no spark. I'm going to get a new dizzy 2day. Hopefully that works. The thing is I have a jdm gsr. The black/yellow wire is not even connected. It's cut on both sides and the pin is pulled from the plug. It was like that when I removed distributor. My car was running fine jus b4 i did anything. Do u think a whole new dizzy could b the answer?? Thank u for ur help
Hmmm, black/yellow is ign. power to the distributor assembly.
What lead to the distributor assembly on your car is ign. switch power, [color]?94

I'm not sure. How can I check. All I know is it was working fine b4 I removed dizzy. I didn't touch any wires and just noticed that the blk/yel wire was capped on one side and cut on the other. When I disconnected it there is no pin on the engine side of the plug
Turn on the ign switch and test the leads in the distributor assembly plug(s) for power, one of them must have power.
JDM or not the coil and ICM must have power going to them.
How many leads are going into the distributor assembly and what are their colors? 94
