Default Just another DB1 *Project Badger*

So I bought a DB1 off Craigslist with a rebuilt obd2 non-vtec head that the guy says the timing slipped on after 1000 miles, doesn't know if he bent valves etc... However the car is rust free and with the exception of a couple missing interior trim pieces, a battery, very poorly ran alarm wiring... I think we all get the idea, went to look at it and not to bad at all so part with a few benjamins and on down the road.

Got her home and started organizing the mess, I sadly don't have any before pictures of the engine bay but the current ones are still horrifying enough. So my roommate set the timing, I got outside and started turning over the engine and soaked the plugs whoot! Pulled plugs, cranked the engine to blow out access fuel, back in with the plugs and what do you know she starts! Purrs like a kitten after a disty adjustment, doesn't sound like any valves got beaten on and things sound really good in the valve train.

Got really sick of those ugly steelies and it just so happened a friend of mine had a set of LS Meshies sitting around...

Much better! I'm about to go poke around the insides a bit more and figure out why my blower motor isn't kicking on at all, might have something to do with the missing 40a fuse I noticed when I was taking apart that alarm wiring yesterday... Fingers crossed its not something more complicated! So I'll be back shortly with some more pictures and such and apologies for the horrible quality of the current ones.

Couple pictures of my old rides

And the 86' GTI, full corrado suspension swap, sloted and drilled rotors, springs, etc... she was rough looking and not to quick in a straight line but handled like a go kart.

While alot of the car was quite a mess it would seem whom ever put the head on had their ducks in a row some what, pending anything on a final check the head bolts and valve train seem alright. So moral of the story rock the b18 non-v for the moment while I source out a b20 block and likely a b16 v-tec head to build a higherish compression engine that can stand on its own but still handle the direct port set-up I would like to have.

A swap over to black interior with some red recaro seats would be not so bad in the mean time I'm thinking and do whatever body work, which is next to nothing, that needs to be done in the warmer months and do a better job of painting the car black. At least better than depo rattle can, unless anyone has any good ideas on stripping that paint off without destroying whats underneath.

The RSX was rather nice, it was a type-s just lowered with 20mm spacers on the stockies. Quick little bugger when it was driven right though. I was sad to see it go but the good paying job lays you off and your screwed after a year

O yeah! and if anyone knows of a VSS for a da or something compatible I'm in need and have paypal! Please and thanks!
