shaving the bay need some input
I'm in the process of doing a swap and cleaning up my engine bay. I'm trying to shave my bay and cover up some holes in the firewall I don't know how to weld and I don't wanna spend a sh*t ton to get some holes welded is there anything else I could do to cover up the holes that would last and be good? Sorry for the dumb question

Mig, personally just ask your family. You would be surprised how many people have mig welders. There not ridiculously expensive but it will cost you most to get a welder then have it done. lol
I bought a mig welder from harbor frieght a few years back for about $200 and bought some of their flux core wire for cheap as well and it works great for small stuff like you are talking about doing. Also like PerfectioinIsKey said ask around on facebook or your family lots of people have small welders you will be surprised.

Are you going to tuck the brake hard lines? Relocate the battery and fuse box? Still running cruise control? Still using the factory hood prop? I dont want to sound like a smart *** but I hope you see what im getting at.
I already relocated the fuse box to the glove box, I deleted the cruise control, I have everything to relocate the battery just gotta do it and I'm getting everything to move the brake lines to the inside on the firewall. I also got rid of the a/c and power steering I'm trying to get a nice clean look
I've got one of those. I would never recommend them to anyone else. Mine isn't really adjustable at all, it has a hotter or colder toggle switch, and 3 speed settings. I've never seen anybody get a good bead with mine. If you look on craigslist or pawn shops you can find used Lincoln welders for about the same price. My buddy just got an older Lincoln TIG for $150 from Dan's Discount & Pawn.
Yeah i wouldn't buy one that works with gas unless you plan on using it alot. I'd just stick with a name brand. Do some research and see what kind of welder fits your needs the best. Tig makes the cleanest welds, i've heard MIG is the best for beginners. (I don't claim to be a welding expert, I suck at it but i can usually get what i need to done) But you can still get your bay pretty good looking without welding the holes up. It just depends how far you wanna go with it.

Simply polishing the paint in the bay can do wonders! If you don't want to weld, grind, fill, prime, and paint; then polish the paint in the bay. Looks much cleaner, and no welding, or re-painting. That is if you can stand the holes after that much work. But what ever you do, do not simply fill the holes with Bondo. I don't even use Bondo in my bays, I use Marglass. Way more flexible, and resists the temp changes better as well. One bit of advice, take your time. If you rush, you will regret it later. I promise!
