97 lx civic - What engine swap?
I recently purchased a 97 lx, I'm wanting to do a engine swap but don't know what's best for me. I drive it daily so I want it to holds up and I want it to have some power. I've been looking at the b20 but the more I look the more I don't want one. I'm pretty new with all this so any help is appreciated.
Haven't really set any goals just something average maybe a little more just to keep up with most aroundhere no real budget I plan to spend around 3000 tho haven't really priced alot cause I'm not exactly sure what I'm wanting
Advice. Go window shopping at Hmotorsonline. Get the biggest most powerful engine you can afford. It's that simple. If you need a guide on how to swap in any particular engine there is over a decade of resources here at H-T.

No of course just trying to use that to kinda say how much power I would want, I just recently bought the civic(my first five speed) and just hate the only gear that kind of gives you a little power is 2nd, can't get over the feeling of being pushed into my seat

Ok, and also, the b20, I've had my eye on them and see some fairly cheap. Would it be worth the money to do the swap but pump close to1500 in the motor itself. Or should I just spend the extra on like a b18 or b16 and just Turbo it
Yeah that's what I've been seeing so I was thinking get one for around6 or so and build the engine to handle it, I just wouldn't want to get myself in to deep with that
Get yourself a B series/install it/see how you like the performance and go from there. B series of course will be lower cost than a K or J series save some money go turbo if your still wanting more.(ps do not buy an Egay turbo kit to cut corners.)
Has anyone had a b20 in a lx civic, and I'd like to hear from some people that have owned one, I know that the walls thin so you would want to re sleeve it I think? How hard would that be or cost or risk even?
