Default OVERHEATING PROBLEM HELP PLEASE !!!!! :(

hey guys i have a problem, my car is over heating n ****, had a minor coolant leak but fixed that, recently replaced the thermostat, it was cool for about 2 weeks but it started over heating again, no hose leaks or any of that. So I decided to mess with the thermostat today, took apart the housing, tested the thermo stat and everything and it was fine, as soon as i started my car, not 5 minutes after driving it the gauge went all the way up. help

Stop driving the car and causing it to overheat. Depending on how frequently you've done this, or how severely it overheated, you may have warped the head.

if no leaks are present, thermostat is working, and provided the heat isn't warped... check your rap cap.

Ouch, sounds like you need a new head gasket, or water pump isn't pumping.

okay, so i drove around for like 5 minutes, and the gauge went all the way up again. i popped the hood and I could touch the block, it wasnt even that warm yet. i was being told it could be a coolant temp sensor?

because, when this would happen I would blast the heater and it would keep the temp gauge in check and run normal. then yesterday i fucked with the thermostat and sensor, and now the gauge just reads hot all the tine time

I had a similar issure with the temp sensor... read hot but put a thermometer laser on the block and it was fine... replaced the sensor and it was fine. DO NOT over tighten!

You aren't burning coolant are you? Also, a blown head gasket is possible. Check your oil and coolant for discoloration. There are simple indicators to check for but like Eghatch9295 said, take it to a qualified mech; they should be more than able to hook you up.
