I have a 94 Civic ex coupe it is 5 speed 1.6 D16Z6. well i bought it knocking put a rebuilt motor in it. new fluids , plugs and wires. Drove it for a day and i pulled out of a parking lot shifted from 1st to 2nd and then it missed and died and i cant get it to start at all. it will turn over and try to crank but just makes a whirring sound. I tried a different distributor still same thing. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

 

Check for fuel and spark. It might be possible the timing belt stripped. You might have got a sensor connector only part way on. At first it made connection, but now it doesn't. Again, start with fuel and spark.

I was told today that the timing belt was stripped. I got a new belt and im pretty sure i can get it on and all but i have no idea how to set the car back in time.
