Okay, I have a 93 civic and my problem is while I am driving my car decides to lose acceleration start bucking. This all happens when I am just driving normally. i need some kind of explanation why this is happening.

Is there any check engine lights? Original engine? Any modifications?

 

sometimes when it starts acting up like lose of acceleration and bucking when i come to a stop sometimes the check engine light come on and off the engine is a ls vtec completely stock.

 

What is the cel code ? Sounds like an iac valve problem

 

havent checked for the code but you think it iacv. what could be wrong with it ?

 

The IACV would only affect idle speed.

Pull the CEL code and do a tune up - plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ignition timing, fuel filter.

 

Only reason I suggested iacv was because mine just went on my em1 and I had alot of the same symptoms

 

i drove thru a flood once and i got my ignition coil wet (inside the dizzy cap). when i would accelerate in 1st gear, it would bog down and hesitate until i let off the gas. if your bucking while accelerating, it could be an ignition component failure. open the dizzy cap and look for any wetness. p.s. the ignitor coil is only $70 and replacing it wouldnt be a bad idea eitherway. good luck!
