questions with upgrades!!
Hi everyone, im new to the whole forum thing, so if im in the wrong place, please point me in the right one! but anyways, i have a 1990 civic dx with a d15b2 block. i just wanted to know what are all the different size heads that will fit on this size block. i think d16z6 is one of them that will, but im sure there are more. i dont really care what size or even if its dual over head cam, i just want to know what else will go on here so i can get the cheapest head to put on it to get it back on the road!! ive heard that putting a vtec on a non-vtec motor requires a little jimmying, but im not sure. someone enlighten me please!!
All the 88~?? D-series heads fit with exception to the dual cam ZC head.
CHEAPEST head would just be to put another B2 head on there.
Dime a dozen.
The D16A6 had the same exact casting so that is pretty much a direct replacement.
Possibly a little more aggressive cam as well.
If you are trying to get more performance out of this, then you need to search for DPFI to MPFI (intake manifold, distributor, wiring modification, and ECU change).
Your B2 has 2 injectors while all other D-series have 4 injectors.
A vtec head is typically referred to as a "mini-me" so you can do some searching for that.
In addition to the MPFI change, it would also require an ECU change to get vtec to function as well as the oil restrictor in the block removed.
You will need to consider the timing belt and mechanical timing if you finally choose a different head.
All these mix-and-matches have been done already so do some internet searching.

You can put any d series head on, except for the dohc zc. You just have to get the correct timing belt and/or can gear combo. But the best thing to do would be to convert your motor from dual point fuel injection, to multiport fuel injection aka, convert it to use 4 injectors instead of 2. There are TONS of write-ups on it. Just use the search function on google.
DPFI is really not hard.
Some people get confused easily and overthink the whole process.
It's about 12 things you do.

Many other write-up as well.
You will need the entire intake manifold, ECU, distributor that is compatible with your ECU, and maybe an injector resistor box depending on the injectors you use.
oh that doesnt look too hard at all..if only i could come up with the money haha. looks like 300 is about a solid guess for price? i got a buddy who has a si with all that crap so ill probably get it from him for cheeps. now it says it adds more power, but i wonder how much power? >
