Anyone Have an Alarm in their 92-95 CX hatchback
I have a CX and i was wondering would an aftermarket alarm be able to be put in my car. Will it cost more because it does not have power door locks? anyone? A lil info on this........
a) yes an aftermarket alarm would work on your car
b) it wont cost more, it will cost the same even if you dont have power door locks..
so go for it.
next get a fuel pump kill switch

the clifford matrix's are great alarms, theres a new one they just brought out that has an LCD keychain, its pimp.
but Vipers are good. (so are the DEI sidewinders, same exact alarm except cheaper)

damn calm down.. yes an alarm be installed into your CX w/ no problems.. most shops that install alarms can install power door lock actuators parts are cheap, labor is expensive.. we charge 70 bux a door i think plus parts 15 bux.. an alarm can also be installed and just protect the car not look the doors.. do some research and shop around, check out BB and CC for prices..
I have a rattler 300. It's just like a viper 300, same internals they're all made by DEI. I've had no problems with it. You can buy the actuators your self and install them it's cheaper, but wiring to the alarm might be difficult. Either way I paid like 190 for the alarm installed and the parts for keyless entry are 20 per door, but installation is a lot more. I love it.
i have a viper i think its an esp300 or somthing likk that. i got it for 350 installed with powerdoorlocks. but i wouldnt suggested the place i got it at. Ripped me on my alarm and on my bday. spented the mywhole bday there just waiting. but i would get a backup battery, and a backup siren if udont want ur car jacked.

i got mine at a toyota dealership
but hey..its free!
..if u'd like maximum security, get a backup battery for the alarm, and get an individual siren, and splice another wire to set of your horn so just incase the theives will cut your siren..or battery...oh BTW...dont forget to buy an www.autolock.com ..it didnt save me from my car getting broken into, but it did save my car

I have a real basic one, if you open the doors, or bust a window, the alarm goes off. It was easy to install, just 5 wires, and I tapped into the door switches. It's nothing fancy, just hopefully a deterent, I am going for the fuel kill switch soon. If your car still gets stolen, then someone really wanted it badly.. that is how I see it.

This is the kind of alarm I am looking into since my Cx is powerless (engine too
) But, I am going to have shock sensor as well.
My friend who will be doing the install said that is about all I need.
I asked about the hood switch and he said they's have to get into the car to open the hood, so it's kind of pointless. Is this true?
The car is a 93 Cx (hatch).
Here's what I am looking at:
-Basic Viper alarm
-Shock sensor
-triggers if any of the doors are opened
-siren under hood and one inside dash (little piezzo sirens sp??))
-also wired into air horns so people actually LOOK if the alarm is triggered!
Oh, and a friend is doing the install so the wires / brain will be well hid
Anything I am missing?
