Default shifter bushings

ok, so today noticing, my shifter has been acting just a lil funny lately. It does have some movement/play while in gear, and when going into 1 and 3, sometimes it'll make a "click" noise within the shifter, not at the transmission. with that being said, no it does not jump out of gear, not go into gear, or even resistance/hesitance. All performance is fine. Just feels a lil sluggish or not "clean" haha, you know?

Anyway, I just wanted to know primarily do I need to replace my bushings? Or shift linkage? Haven't been to this part of a car yet, or read up on it. Are these symptoms of warn shifter bushings? Hard to remove? And also can someone tell me the different types n how they benefit..

Thank you ht

look under the boot and at the linkage under the car and have someone shift while u feel around for any binding and see if u can pinpoint the noise.

LOL. So I look at my shifter exactly what I said ( noise is being produced from there ) just to find that I had a lighter and my cigerette car lighter clanking when I go into 1 and 3rd gear. Also did not notice at first cause the leather boot sits low and sinks.
