Hey guys, my car is a 2000 Honda Civic EX. When I clutch in to shift from 1st to 2nd gear I feel something shake and also hear a spinning sound. 1st to 2nd gets notchy and sometimes my gear grinds. Finally, when I am in first gear cruising in for example, a parking lot every time I gas a little bit the car jerks foward. Any ideas on what these problem this might be? Any help would be appreciated.

 

Only when pressing the clutch pedal down or when trying to shift with the clutch pedal down? Do you feel the shake in the gear shifter or clutch pedal?

 

It happens right when I clutch in to shift to 2nd gear. So right when I press on the clutch pedal to shift to second I feel a sudden jerk and hear a spinning noise. The shifter moves violently.

 

You probably have several different issues:

-The rear engine mount may be loose or bad, but check all the mounts.

-The clutch throw out bearing may be bad and causing the noise.

-You may reduce the shifting problem by replacing the transmission fluid with fresh Honda MTF.
