91 ef/d16y7 swap - How fit Y8 intake if fuel line goes straight to throttle body?
i have a 91 ef std edition. it has a swapped d16y7 in with with the stock 4spd tranny. i wanted to put on a new intake so i got one from a y8 went to start working on it and noticed my car doesnt have any fuel injectors the fuel line goes straight onto the throttle body. i looked at my ecu and its a pm9-a01 and my intake says "pgm-fi programmed fuel injection". so im guessing this is the original intake, ecu and throttle body bolted onto my y7. what do i have to do to convert it so i can use the y8 intake.
thanks for the help

i assume you have a dual port set up with 2 injectors and are asking how to convert to multi port injection with 4 injectors?
the faq at the top of the page has information on that, or you can search for mpfi conversion. https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/faq-mpfi-swap-information-639552/ is one thread linked in the faq.

I have been doing a ton of research into the DPFI to MPFi swap. Its really not that hard. Many many resources out there, specially on here.
As per your question on using the Y7 ecu and harness. You cannot use the harness. The ECU, yes. After you convert to MPFI and than have to do an OBD0 to OBD2 conversion.
If I read everything right, the info above is correct. However, I haven't dont the swap yet on my own car. Still waiting on the motor from the machine shop.
I hate to say, but I have been searching and reading for at least a week on what to do. And its starting to make since. lol.

youre gonna need to get a conversion harness and convert it to obd2 if that is your intention along with the dizzy and ecu(they must all match). switch the two outside wires on your tps plug. take a fuel injector harness from a junk car and look up mpfi conversion somewhere and find out which wires you tap into. then you have to wire your vtec up, also very easy... its just two wires and a ground. theres a guy on ebay that makes conversions called monotech. look him up. he can give you a plug and play kit for about 160
Why are there suggestions to convert to OBD2?
Converting to OBD1 seems more logical since OBD2 has a few tricky sensors that are not made easily compatible with this chassis.
